Outremer, known for their high-performance bluewater sailing catamarans, have launched their first unit of the new Outremer 55 flagship. The watchwords are performance and luxury, the result absolutely breathtaking.
Thanks to the VPLP naval architecture the new Outremer 55 scores with a 13.5t light displacement, one that is only half the displacement of similar-sized production catamarans! The sail plan with the optional carbon rig and 104sqm mainsail, paired with the 48sqm self-tacking jib and optional genoa, gennaker, or spinnaker makes the Outremer 55 a super fast sailing catamaran. Enhancing the performance does not go on cost of the luxury and comfort onboard, so is the self-tacking jib located on the coachroof and off the deck to provide space for a forward lounging area with large cushions, but without compromising the space for the trampolines.
Outremer catamarans have daggerboards. With the new Outremer 55, they are retractable providing excellent performance still keeping the draft as low as 1.20m once raised into the cassettes. But there are more new features showcasing the yard's advanced technologies currently on offer. The ergonomic and convertible twin helms tiltable into three positions: lowered inboards, to the cockpit, and to the side deck. Lowered, in order to get full weather protection and maintaining visibility through the panoramic salon windows inside, to the cockpit for an undisturbed view at the sails and the deck, and last but not least, to the side deck sitting down into the very comfortable twin-seat enjoying the navigation to the fullest.
All the performance features aside, with the signatures of Patrick Le Quément and interior design by Darnet, the family feeling onboard is ensured by an environment guests will enjoy unwinding in. The huge space between the cockpit and salon opens up to one large merged expansive area by moving the glass sliding doors. Thanks to this, the indoor effortlessly becomes the outdoor, and vice versa. More amenities comprise the central island galley, the salon table lowering to cocktail respectively dining mode, forward windows that can be lowered, too, and even an internal home garden for providing spices and herbs.
Our Outremer 55 for charter will have the 4 double cabin layout with queen-size beds sleeping 8 guests, whilst the two single forepeak cabins are designated for the professional crews. Complete, fast, luxurious are the attributes making the new Outremer 55 a real eye-catcher.
